Hello everyone! I hope 2016 is treating you all amazingly! I’ve been meaning to post much sooner than this, but the second the new year rang and January hit full on, London Collection Men’s Fashion Week had begun and I was once again thrust into the world of interviews, fashion shows and dressing backstage.
This fashion week was exciting for me, for as you all know, I’ve only had one run in with menswear before this (click here to see) and that was only with photoshoots.
The idea of having to dress male models was – I’ll be honest – really intimidating. Not only are they MUCH taller and broader, but they generally have more layers which go into each look. But putting aside my anxiety, I started booking as many shows as I could (though not as many as I would have liked since I came down with a vicious cold). Ultimately I came away with three dressing jobs and two fashion shows to attend.
Not too shabby for my second FW ever.
So much happened over these few days, I wasn’t able to put it all into one post. SO! This week you’ll be getting not one, not two, but THREE posts! Starting off with Day one!
The first show I attended for the week was the Cott Weiler show. Rather than a traditional catwalk, this was more of an exhibition show, where the models stand still in a sort of instillation piece, as the guests walk around to the clothing and atmosphere
The three shows I dressed for may have been my favorite dressing experiences so far, all of them really interesting a great experiences
My first show was YMC-You Must Create.
This collection was heavily influenced on the 70’s trend with a really laid back vibe and even had a live band playing great rock and psychedelic music. These are the two looks I dressed, some behind the scenes shots and the full show.
Hope you all enjoyed day 1 of LCM! Stay tuned for my experiences throughout the rest of the week!
Until Next Time!Xx
